Spain 27th January - 1st February 2009
Let's start with my latest vacation, I know I still have to write about the wonderfull time I had in Heidelberg, but that will come; it's a promise!
So, on Tuesday 27th of January I left Rotterdam at 9.20 by car to leave to Amsterdam Schiphol, with my best friend whom I knows for 21,5 years. At 13.00 our flight to Madrid was about to happen; our first vacation together in many years. We arrived just 15 minutes late in Madrid, and we went by metro and a nice walk to our Hotel Victoria 4, a three star hotel. Normally when I travel, I use to stay at friends places, but now we had chosen to stay in two hotels.
After refreshing after a long journey, we went out for dinner. When we got home from dinner, it was to early to go to sleep, we walked around our hotel to have a drink and found a great bar, Café del Soul. It's an amazing place. As you can see they have the same "chairs" as in parque de Guell in Barcelona. We had an amazing evening there, and we got home after 2.
On Wednesday was the first meeting planned, namely with Lola. We met her at plaza de puerte del Sol, this is one of the most important square's in Madrid, here the center of activity is placed. We went for a nice drink in a place where they had internet; which we used twice after our meeting with Lola. After the coffee, we went for a nice walk to the Opera and the .... . Then it was time for lunch, so it was around 2 o'clock. We went to the beerstation a nice place, and there we had a three course lunch. We all took different things, and it was all delicious. After that we had a small walk, and we had to say goodbye to Lola, since the next day she would leave for a long weekend trip for ski-ing :)
